CWS Visiting Fellowship

Women’s Studies hosts a two-week Visiting Fellowship Programme. Feminist scholars from various national and international institutions are invited to share their current research with the faculty and students of Women’s Studies, JNU. Visiting Fellows are expected to give one seminar as part of the regular seminar series and conduct a workshop or lecture with research students of Women’s Studies. This Fellowship Programme has brought outstanding feminist scholars from different parts of the country (Calcutta and Bangalore) and the world (USA, Sri Lanka, South Africa, UK, and Egypt) to the University, allowing for a rich and lively debate on diverse, cross-cultural, and comparative issues relating to different aspects of gender studies.

Some of our Visiting Fellows are:

Patricia Hayes (University of the Western Cape, South Africa).
Ritty Lukose (New York University).
Henrike Donner (London School of Economics, UK).
Martina Reiker (American University in Cairo).
Malathi de Alwis (International Centre for Ethnic Studies, Colombo.
