Ph.D. in Economics
Overview
The Centre runs an active Ph.D. Programme in Economics providing an excellent research environment in a wide range of research areas. PhD students are required to complete one semester course work before writing their PhD dissertation.
Our PhD students have been well established in the academic world, in India and abroad (Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi School of Economics, Universities of Bombay and Chennai, Indian Institutes of Management at Ahmedabad and Bangalore, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Copenhagen Business School, Graduate Institute of International Studies Geneva, Max Planck Institute of Economics Germany and many others). Some of our former PhDs are holding positions of great responsibility in the Government (Ministries of Commerce and Finance, RBI) and in international organisations (UNIDO, World Bank).
