M.Phil (discontinued w.e.f 2021-22) / Ph.D in International Trade and Development

Overview

The MPhil programme in International Trade and Development has been running for over four decades. After the MPhil, one may proceed to do a PhD in Economics subject to the grade point requirements. Many of our MPhil students proceed to the job market in the research and corporate sectors after completing their MPhil (GE, UNCTAD, RGF, IIFT, RIS, ICRIER, NIPFP, TERI).

Course Structure

The M.Phil degree is awarded after two years on successful completion of five courses in the first year followed by an MPhil dissertation the second year.

Admissions Procedure

Admissions to the integrated M.Phil/PhD programme is based on an all-India written entrance test and interview (see the Prospectus for details).

Foreign students may apply directly as per JNU guidelines (International Students)

Evaluation and Grading System

Grading is done as per JNU norms.
