Minaketan Behera received his Ph. D. in Economics from Allahabad University and M.Phil in Economics from University of Hyderabad. Prior to joining Centre for Informal Sector and Labour Studies, School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, he has taught at Bharat Ratna Dr B.R. Ambedkar University, Delhi, A.N.Sinha Institute of Social Studies, Patna and Amity University, Noida. He has several years of Field experience in area of livelihood Issues Particularly Venerable Tribal Groups. He has completed different Research projects funded by Planning Commission, Ministry of Environment and Forest and Indian council of Social Science Research. His research interest includes Livelihoods and Development of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups, Displacement and Migration Issues, and Joint Forest Management Issues.
