Visit the MMTTC online application Portal and follow the steps given below / एचआरडीसी ऑनलाइन आवेदन पोर्टल पर जाएं और नीचे दिए गए चरणों का पालन करें:
Step 1: Please read the instructions carefully before applying to the course and check your eligibility. / पाठ्यक्रम में आवेदन करने से पहले कृपया निर्देशों को ध्यान से पढ़ें और अपनी पात्रता की जांच करें।
Step 2: Before applying for the course, the list of available courses can be checked from top menu "Check available courses" tab. The last date of application is given with each course. / पाठ्यक्रम के लिए आवेदन करने से पहले, उपलब्ध पाठ्यक्रमों की सूची शीर्ष मेनू "उपलब्ध पाठ्यक्रमों की जाँच करें" टैब से जाँच की जा सकती है। प्रत्येक पाठ्यक्रम के साथ आवेदन की अंतिम तिथि दी गई है।
Step 3: You are required to pay the non refundable application fee of ₹ 500 /- first before applying to a course. While making online payment you may mention your applied course name at Bill /Reference number and no need to upload any bill copy as that is a non mandatory filed on payment window portal. / किसी कोर्स में आवेदन करने से पहले आपको ₹500/- की गैर-वापसी योग्य आवेदन शुल्क का भुगतान करना होगा। ऑनलाइन भुगतान करते समय आप बिल/संदर्भ संख्या पर अपने लागू पाठ्यक्रम के नाम का उल्लेख कर सकते हैं और किसी भी बिल की प्रति अपलोड करने की आवश्यकता नहीं है क्योंकि यह भुगतान विंडो पोर्टल पर एक गैर-अनिवार्य फाइल है।
Step 4: After submission of application fee, Kindly visit this page again through MMTTC main website. Click on top menu "Apply Online for the Course" tab and fill the course details, personal details etc. along with the Confirmed fee submission transaction ID or receipt no. and submit the form. After submission, A unique APPLICATION NUMBER will be generated . Please note/save the application number as it will be required for login purpose. Login at http://jnu.ac.in/mmttconline/log.php through main website and upload your photograph ( maximum 500KB ). Download your application form and get it duly signed/ forwarded through proper channel,the head of your institution / organisation. / आवेदन शुल्क जमा करने के बाद, कृपया एमएमटीटीसी की मुख्य वेबसाइट के माध्यम से इस पृष्ठ पर फिर से जाएँ। शीर्ष मेनू "पाठ्यक्रम के लिए ऑनलाइन आवेदन करें" टैब पर क्लिक करें और पुष्टि शुल्क जमा लेनदेन आईडी या रसीद संख्या के साथ पाठ्यक्रम विवरण, व्यक्तिगत विवरण आदि भरें। और फॉर्म सबमिट कर दें। सबमिट करने के बाद, एक अद्वितीय एप्लिकेशन नंबर जेनरेट किया जाएगा। कृपया आवेदन संख्या को नोट/सहेजें क्योंकि यह लॉगिन उद्देश्य के लिए आवश्यक होगा। मुख्य वेबसाइट के माध्यम से http://jnu.ac.in/mmttconline/log.php पर लॉग इन करें और अपना फोटोग्राफ (अधिकतम 500KB) अपलोड करें। अपना आवेदन पत्र डाउनलोड करें और इसे उचित माध्यम से अपने संस्थान/संगठन के प्रमुख के माध्यम से विधिवत हस्ताक्षरित/अग्रेषित करवाएं।
Step 5: Login and Upload the duly signed/ forwarded copy of application form ( maximum 1 MB pdf ) . / लॉग इन करें और आवेदन पत्र की विधिवत हस्ताक्षरित / अग्रेषित प्रति अपलोड करें (अधिकतम 1 एमबी पीडीएफ) |
► All the courses will held through online mode of teaching only. / सभी पाठ्यक्रम केवल शिक्षण के ऑनलाइन मोड के माध्यम से आयोजित किए जाएंगे।

► The applicants are required to apply well before the last date of application and complete the application process (including uploading of duly signed application form) well in time. / आवेदकों को आवेदन की अंतिम तिथि से पहले अच्छी तरह से आवेदन करना होगा और आवेदन प्रक्रिया (विधिवत हस्ताक्षरित आवेदन पत्र को अपलोड करने सहित) को समय पर पूरा करना होगा।
► Applicants are advised to apply well in time as the last date of application can be reduced if the number of applications received reaches 2.5-3 times of total number of maximum available seats. / आवेदकों को सलाह दी जाती है कि वे समय पर आवेदन करें क्योंकि आवेदन की अंतिम तिथि कम की जा सकती है यदि प्राप्त आवेदनों की संख्या अधिकतम उपलब्ध सीटों (40) की कुल संख्या के 2.5-3 गुना तक पहुंच जाती है।
► Applicants are required to pay the application fee before applying to course. Please select Application fee option only while applying to a course. Course registration fee is to submitted after selection only in respective course. ► Applicants are required to apply separately for each course with separate application fee. One Receipt Number/Transaction ID can be used to apply in one course only. Applications with incorrect Receipt Number/ Transaction ID will be rejected. / आवेदकों को अलग-अलग आवेदन शुल्क के साथ प्रत्येक पाठ्यक्रम के लिए अलग से आवेदन करना होगा। एक रसीद संख्या/लेनदेन आईडी का उपयोग केवल एक पाठ्यक्रम में आवेदन करने के लिए किया जा सकता है। गलत रसीद संख्या/लेनदेन आईडी वाले आवेदनों को अस्वीकार कर दिया जाएगा
► If any discrepancy is found at any stage the candidature of the applicant will be cancelled. / यदि किसी भी स्तर पर कोई विसंगति पाई जाती है तो आवेदक की उम्मीदवारी रद्द कर दी जाएगी।
► It is mandatory to upload the duly signed /forwarded copy of application form at the portal. In case it is not possible to get the application form physically signed by the head of the institution, applicant may get permission from Head of the institution through email and merge the email copy at the end of application form and then upload at the portal. / आवेदन पत्र की विधिवत हस्ताक्षरित/अग्रेषित प्रति को पोर्टल पर अपलोड करना अनिवार्य है। यदि आवेदन पत्र पर संस्थान के प्रमुख द्वारा हस्ताक्षर करना संभव नहीं है, तो आवेदक संस्था के प्रमुख से ईमेल के माध्यम से अनुमति प्राप्त कर सकता है और आवेदन पत्र के अंत में ईमेल कॉपी को मर्ज कर पोर्टल पर अपलोड कर सकता है।

A warm welcome to the modified and updated website of the Centre for East Asian Studies. The East Asian region has been at the forefront of several path-breaking changes since 1970s beginning with the redefining the development architecture with its State-led development model besides emerging as a major region in the global politics and a key hub of the sophisticated technologies. The Centre is one of the thirteen Centres of the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi that provides a holistic understanding of the region.
Initially, established as a Centre for Chinese and Japanese Studies, it subsequently grew to include Korean Studies as well. At present there are eight faculty members in the Centre. Several distinguished faculty who have now retired include the late Prof. Gargi Dutt, Prof. P.A.N. Murthy, Prof. G.P. Deshpande, Dr. Nranarayan Das, Prof. R.R. Krishnan and Prof. K.V. Kesavan. Besides, Dr. Madhu Bhalla served at the Centre in Chinese Studies Programme during 1994-2006. In addition, Ms. Kamlesh Jain and Dr. M. M. Kunju served the Centre as the Documentation Officers in Chinese and Japanese Studies respectively.
The academic curriculum covers both modern and contemporary facets of East Asia as each scholar specializes in an area of his/her interest in the region. The integrated course involves two semesters of classes at the M. Phil programme and a dissertation for the M. Phil and a thesis for Ph. D programme respectively. The central objective is to impart an interdisciplinary knowledge and understanding of history, foreign policy, government and politics, society and culture and political economy of the respective areas. Students can explore new and emerging themes such as East Asian regionalism, the evolving East Asian Community, the rise of China, resurgence of Japan and the prospects for reunification of the Korean peninsula. Additionally, the Centre lays great emphasis on the building of language skills. The background of scholars includes mostly from the social science disciplines; History, Political Science, Economics, Sociology, International Relations and language.
Several students of the centre have been recipients of prestigious research fellowships awarded by Japan Foundation, Mombusho (Ministry of Education, Government of Japan), Saburo Okita Memorial Fellowship, Nippon Foundation, Korea Foundation, Nehru Memorial Fellowship, and Fellowship from the Chinese and Taiwanese Governments. Besides, students from Japan receive fellowship from the Indian Council of Cultural Relations.
