About Allen P. Minton : Dr. Allen P. Minton’s holds B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles. His laboratory uses theoretical and experimental approaches to study the equilibrium and dynamic properties of individual macromolecular species in crowded environment and at high concentration of macromolecules. His studies are important for understanding the behavior of biological macromolecules in biological fluids and for designing better and more effective pharmaceuticals.
Dr. Minton has pioneered development of light scattering technologies and authored many papers in top journals. He has also developed a small volume viscometer for rapidly and accurately measuring the rheological properties of proteins and other macromolecules of biotechnological and pharmaceutical interest.
