Hecke Algebra and the Langlands Program

Abstract: The Langlands program, roughly speaking, predicts a natural correspondence between the finite dimensional complex representations of the Galois group of a local or a number field and the infinite dimensional representations of real, p-adic and adelic reductive groups. I will very briefly talk about the local Langlands conjectures and an approach via Hecke algebras. I will then talk about my result with Bertand Lemaire about Langlands-Shelstad transfer of the Bernstein centre of depth zero principal series blocks.
