Centre for the Study of the World Economy (formerly Centre for International Trade and Development)

 

The Centre for the Study of the World Economy (CSWE) at the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, is a premier economics department in India. The Centre offers two programs in Economics: MA in Economics (with specialization in World Economy) and Ph.D. in Economics. It also used to offer M.Phil. in International Trade & Development  which was discontinued in 2021-22 (in accordance with UGC regulations).
 
The Centre is served by a team of distinguished faculty trained at well known universities in India and abroad. Faculty members actively engage in theoretical and empirical research in a wide range of areas of global economic importance including international trade, economic development, financial economics and banking systems, health & nutrition, gender, environment, natural resources, technology, IPR, law and economics, public economics, labour, poverty, and inequality.
