Magna Charta Anniversary 2026 in Vilnius

 

As the Magna Charta Anniversary 2026 in Vilnius approaches, we would like to renew our invitation to you and your colleagues to join us on 14–16 October 2026.

 

You may already have received information about the Anniversary and its programme. With the event now only less than a month away, we would like to highlight once again what we believe makes this gathering particularly relevant for those who lead universities today.

 

Under the theme “Beyond Resilience: Universities as Active Value-Driven Agents in a Changing World”, the Anniversary will bring together university leaders and higher education experts from across Europe and beyond to reflect on how universities can respond to a rapidly changing environment without losing sight of the values that underpin their role in society.

 

The programme offers a deliberately broad range of perspectives. Among the speakers are:

Hilligje van’t Land, Secretary General, International Association of Universities

Together with university leaders and experts from different regions and higher education systems, they will address issues that are increasingly central to university leadership: academic freedom and institutional autonomy, geopolitical and security challenges, AI and technological transformation, public trust, democratic engagement and universities’ responsibility to society.

 

But the Anniversary is not intended simply as a series of presentations. It is an opportunity to be in the room with colleagues who are facing many of the same questions — to exchange experiences, challenge assumptions and consider what universities can do, rather than simply how they can withstand change.

 

This is particularly important for the Magna Charta community. The principles of the Magna Charta Universitatum MCU2020 provide a shared foundation, but their significance depends on how they are understood and put into practice in the very different circumstances in which universities operate today.

 

We would therefore be very pleased to welcome you to Vilnius for this international meeting of university leaders.

As you may know, Inalco is located in the heart of Paris and specializes in the teaching of over 100 non-Western languages. 
 

We also offer a full 30 ECTS program of French as a Foreign Language (FLE) courses called Inal'FLE, open to students of all levels, including complete beginners (A1 level).

We are pleased to announce that nominations for international students wishing to take part in Inalco’s exchange program is open soon for: 
 

  • Spring Semester 2026/2027 (January 2027 - June 2027) 
  • Full Academic Year 2026/2027 (January 2027 – January 2028) 
     

We kindly ask you to submit your nominations via our short online nomination form (one per student) between September 10 and October 4, 2026.   
 

Starting October 6th, nominated students will receive direct instructions via email on how to complete their application. 
 

They will be required to submit an online application form with an ID photo, a copy of their passport/national ID, and a French language test or certificate (if applicable). 
 

Please note: Until now, we have been able to admit all nominated students. However, due to a significant increase in applications this year, we anticipate that the number of submissions may exceed our capacity. While we will do our best to accept as many students as possible, we may unfortunately have to decline some applications. 
 

In such cases, priority will be given to students from universities where a balanced exchange (comparable numbers of incoming and outgoing students) has been maintained. 
 

To avoid any inconvenience, we kindly ask that students do not make any travel or housing arrangements until they have received an official letter of acceptance, which we expect to send out in November.

Erasmus+ exchange studies at Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) 

NEW nomination/application period for Erasmus+ exchange studies at Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) during Spring semester of study year 2026 / 2027.

Nomination should be done on the MOBILITY-ONLINE SYSTEM (https://mobility.vdu.lt/mobility/login). Only students nominated via the Mobility-Online system will receive information on the application procedure.

They would like to invite our students for Erasmus+ exchange studies at VMU. Since they cannot offer any grants, our students could study with Erasmus+ ? zero-grant? which means that tuition fees for students are waived. Students will have to cover their own travel and living expenses. Living costs in Lithuania are around 500-700 EUR/month, depending on student needs. They can accept up to 2 students with Erasmus+ ?zero grant?.

Freie Universität Berlin(FUB) India!

Youth Diplomatic Academy (YDA)
