1. Senior Research Fellow (One) Rs.35000/- + HRA

Essential Qualification

  • Masters degree in Life Sciences/ Bioinformatics/ Chemical Sciences with strong academic record. The student qualified NET LS/GATE will be given preference
  • Candidates should have at least 2 years research experience and preference will be given to candidates with experience in microbiological and biophysical techniques.

Desirable Qualification

  • M.Sc. degree in Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics or related field.The candidate should have good academic record. It will be an advantage to have experience in the area of cloning, protein purification, enzyme kinetics, FPLC and GFC.
  • The position is completely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The fellowship will be as per sanction in the project and/or as per. The initial appointment may be for three months or as per recommendation of the selection committee, which can be extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate’s performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. The eligible candidates may further be shortlisted based on the qualification/experience depending on the total number of applications received. Applications are invited for ONE Senior Research Fellow in the MHRD funded STARS project entitled “Delineating the molecular basis of Rho GTPase mediated actin degradation and its implication in amoebic encystation” in the laboratory of the undersigned.

Salary: Rs.35,000/- per month + 24% HRA

Essential Qualification: Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science OR Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in a Professional Course. Additionally, the candidate should have qualified UGC-NET (including lectureship), OR GATE, OR  National level examinations conducted by MHRD and its Agencies and lnstitutions such as UGC, IIT/IISc/IISER/IIIT.

The candidate must have two years research experience and experience in animal cell-culture

Desirable: Candidates with prior experience in working with Entamoeba will be given a preference. It is desirable that the candidates should have experience in confocal microscopy, basic molecular and cell biology techniques.

Applications for the post of Junior Research Fellow in a SERB funded project in SPS

Applications are invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow in a Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) funded project entitled “Study of unusual thermal expansion and compressibility in organic and metal-organic materials" under the supervision of Dr. Dinabandhu Das, School of Physical Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University.

Essential Qualification: The applicant must have M.Sc. degree in Chemistry (Organic / Inorganic) from UGC recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks. The candidate should have good analytical skills.

Desirable Qualification: Candidates with experience on synthesis of organic/inorganic molecules and Crystallography. Candidates with CSIR/UGC-NET/GATE are encouraged to apply.

Fellowship/Salary: As per DST norms, fellowship is ₹31,000/- p.m. plus HRA as permissible for first two years. There will be enhanced fellowship in the third year as ₹35,000/- p.m. plus HRA.

Duration: The selected candidate will be appointed on purely temporary basis, initially for a period of one year and renewable each year subject to satisfactory performance for a maximum of three years.

Main objectives of the project:

• Design, synthesis and characterization of new organic and metal-organic compounds.

• Crystallization of these compounds to study thermal expansion and compressibility  by variable temperature X-ray diffraction experiment.

• Analysis of the data and rationalize the problem
