Applications are invited for a post in a DST funded Project entitled: "Fabrication of the portable low cost point-of-care optical device for the screening of thalassemic carrier, (Ref Number: DST/BDTD/EAG/2018 )'' at School of Biotechnology, JNU. The selected candidate will be appointed for 12 months or the termination of the project whichever is earlier.

Position: Project Assistant (1)

Essential Qualifications & Experience: Candidate must have B.Sc. or higher degree (with minimum 55% marks) or higher in Life Sciences/Biotechnology or any related field.

Desirable: Experience in nanotechnology.

Salary: Rs. 22,000 per month

Appointment will be purely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project.

Applications are invited from highly motivated individuals for a post in DST, India funded Project entitled: " Invading Nucleosome: Understanding How Cells Recruit Proteins at Target DNA Sites (Reference Number: CRG/2019/001001)''. The selected candidate will be appointed purely on temporary basis, initially for six months as a JRF that may be extended further based on candidate’s performance.

Position: Junior Research Fellow(1)

Qualifications & Experience: Candidate must have a consistently good academic record and must have qualified NET/GATE.

Academic Background: M.Sc in Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics/Bioinformatics/Biophysics or allied basic and inter-disciplinary science subjects.

Desirable: Proficiency in computer programming.

Salary: Consolidated Rs. 31,000 per month for initial two years and Rs. 35,000 per month for last one year.

Applications are invited for a temporary position of Project Associate-1 (ONE Post) in a DBT funded project. The details are provided below.

 

Title of the Project

Artificial Intelligence-based Prediction of an Intracellular Analyte Concentration Class using morphological images of parts.

Essential Qualification

 

Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences / M.VSc. or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent.

Desirable

Candidate should be familiar with, and be passionate about Data Science and Biological Data. It is not required for the candidate to understand Biology or be someone with a background/degree in Biology/Biotechnology/ Life Science/related area but the candidate needs to be analytical minded, and should be willing to work independently and with biological data. Prior experience in using Deep Learning tools and methods is a definite plus. The position does not require conducting experiments in the lab.

Consolidated fixed emoluments per month

  1. 31,000/- + HRA for those who are selected through (a) National Eligibility Tests - CSlR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.
  2. 25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above.

Applications are invited for the following purely temporary post in the DBT funded project entitled "Genomic Resources for Mulberry: Indian Mulberry Nuclear Genome Sequencing" at School of Computational & Integrative Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University.

Junior/Senior Research Fellow (one post): M.Sc. degree or equivalent in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Bioinformatics/Computational Biology or other related field with NET/GATE qualification. The candidates with minimum two years of research experience after completion of M.Sc. degree or equivalent as above may be considered for the SRF position. Good computer skills (Linux, Perl, Java, Python, MySQL etc.), along with proven experience in NGS data analysis and/or bioinformatics is highly desirable.

The fellowship will be as per sanction in the project and/or as per DBT rules. The initial appointment may be for six months or as per recommendation of the selection committee, which can be extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate’s performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. The eligible candidates may further be shortlisted based on the qualification/experience depending on the total number of applications received. JNU may select candidate against the above post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate and reserves the right to relax any of the qualification(s) in case the candidate is found otherwise well qualified by the Selection Committee.

Applications are invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow in a Department of Biotechnology (DBT) funded project entitled “Computer Aided Diagnostic System for the Detection and Evaluation of Intracranial Atherosclerotic Disease Using Computed Tomography Angiography” under the supervision of Prof. R. K Agrawal, School of Computer & Systems Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

Essential Qualification: The applicant must have M. Tech/M.E. in Computer Science and Engineering/ Computer Science and Technology/ Computer Science or MCA or B. Tech in Computer Science and Engineering/ Computer Science and Technology/ Computer Science with NET/GATE qualification.

Desirable Qualification: Candidates having knowledge of Machine learning/ Image processing are encouraged to apply.

Fellowship/Salary: As per DBT norms, fellowship is ₹31,000/- p.m. plus HRA as permissible for the first two years.
