Computational Methods in Hit and Lead Identification/Optimization for Drug Discovery

19th - 20th Nov 2020

Time: 10:00am - 16:00 pm

Advanced Instrumentation Research Facility (AIRF) of JNU provides services to scientific community as well as conduct a series of workshop/webinar/training programs on advance instruments and facilities in biological / chemical/ physical sciences areas to capacity buildings as well as knowledge dissemination. In this series, AIRF is organizing a next workshop on “Computational Methods in Hit and Lead Identification/Optimization for Drug Discovery” to be held on 19th - 20th Nov 2020. The webinar shall be online and will have lectures and hand on sessions by application specialists.

Outline: The two-day hands-on cloud-based workshop include lecture and practical session on targeting structure & ligand-based drug discovery using the Schrödinger suite hosted on Amazon web servers. Participants shall get practical experience using the software and in-person guidance on the following topics: Maestro GUI, organic molecule enumerations, protein selection, preparation, hit/ lead optimizations, etc. They shall learn rational strategies to screen small molecule hit and lead identification against therapeutic targets of interest. The workshop shall include brief background presentations for Molecular Docking, Pharmacophore Modeling, 3D QSAR, and case studies on real-time industrial drug discovery projects.

How to apply: Application forms are available here. Applications are invited from registered research students/scholars from an Academic Institution. The webinar is open to all research students and scholars. Depending upon availability not more than one research student / scholar from each lab will be allowed. Decisions of the screening committee shall be final and only selected candidates will be allowed to participate in the workshop. All participants who have attended training session successfully will get e-certificate.
