Introduction to Tantra and aesthetics.
Tantra is a philosophy that deals with the religious and art experience. It is a practical extension of Yoga which is based don Samkhya. It is known through the major streams of Shaiva, Vaishnava and Shakta. Basic tenets that underlie all these with special reference to the Shaiva and Shakta will be introduced in the first of the lectures on Tantra and Indian aesthetics.
