<strong>Centre For Historical Studies School of Social Sciences</strong> a lecture by <strong>Prof Rahul Mukherjee</strong> on <strong>The Tipping Point and Economic Change in India</strong> <strong>on Thursday 15 October</strong> This presentation would be a general argument on the political economy of economic change drawing from India's approach to the two balance of payments crises - 1966 and 1991. It will also reflect on other issues based on this general argument. Rahul Mukherji is Associate Professor in the South Asian Studies Programme, National University of Singapore (NUS). He is also associated the Institute of South Asian Studies (NUS), the Centre for Economic and Social Studies (Hyderabad) and the Institute of Social Sciences (New Delhi). He has taught at Jawaharlal Nehru University (New Delhi), Hunter College - City University of New York and the University of Vermont (USA). His two recent books are: Globalization and Deregulation: Ideas, Interests and Institutional Change in India (OUP, 2014) and The Oxford India Short Introduction to the Political Economy of Reforms in India (2014).
