Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for the positions of Research Assistant (01), Field Investigator (01) and a part time project support staff (1) in research project titled “Revisiting Language and Culture of the Rajbanshis” funded by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) under the supervision of Dr. Hari Madhab Ray (project director), Assistant Professor, Centre for Linguistics, School of Languages, Literature & Culture Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi-110067.
The details of the positions, monthly remuneration, qualification etc. are given below;
Project Staff: Research Assistant
No. of Positions: 01
Monthly Remunerations/ Emoluments: INR 37000/-p.m.
Essential Qualification: graduate in Linguistics/English or allied social science discipline 55% marks with NET/M.Phil./ Ph.D.
Desirable Qualification: Post graduate in Linguistics with minimum 55% with NET./M.Phil/ P.h.D. Typing Proficiency in English and Bengali. Fieldwork experience in data collection and elicitation, acquaintance with PRAAT and Fieldwork Language Explorer-(FLEX), Lexicology, experience in
Making linguistic questionnaire and transcribing in IPA and experience in working in a Project
Project Staff: Field Investigator

Monthly Remunerations/ Emoluments: INR 20000/-p.m.
Essential Qualification: Post graduate in Linguistics/English or allied social science discipline 55% marks
Desirable Qualification: Post graduate in Linguistics/English/ Bengali or allied social science discipline with minimum 55% marks, Fieldwork experience in data collection and elicitation in the areas of North Bengal
Project Staff: Part Time Project Support Staff
No. of Positions : 01
Monthly Remunerations/ Emoluments: INR 5000/-pm
Essential Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
Desirable Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, Competence in Reading, writing and typing in English, Bengali and Rajbanshi

Kindly note
1. Candidates will be shortlisted based on qualification and suitability for the project. Only the short-listed candidates will be called for the interview.
2. Date, Time and Place of the interview will be informed only to the shortlisted candidates.
3. Interview will take place through Online mode only. The meeting link will be shared to the shortlisted candidates before the interview.
4. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview.
5. The Selected candidates will be appointed purely on temporary basis (for a period of three to six months, extendable to the duration of the project depending upon the performance of the selected candidate for the respective post) or till his/her services are required by the principal investigator.
6. The number of project staff positions are provisional and subject to change depending upon the requirement of the project.
7. Project Staff will be engaged/appointed as per the rules and guidelines of ICSSR and Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
